Finalists of the MIPIM Awards 2023

The UTG company continues to inform the Ukrainian community about important events in the global real estate market. So, from March 14 to 17 of this year, the 33rd MIPIM 2023 international exhibition took place in Cannes. According to across-magazine, during the exhibition, experts identified the main direction of real estate development and noted several best multifunctional projects. According to the participants of the exhibition, developers are now paying attention to multifunctional shopping complexes during the construction of new facilities and reconstruction of urban areas. This is due to the fact that modern consumers are looking for various places for work, relax and shopping. Thus, mixed use is not a trend, it is the future of real estate.

Therefore, the first finalist of the MIPIM Awards 2023 in the mixed-use category was the Morland Mixite Capitale project in Paris, France. Architectural solutions were implemented by CALQ Architecture and DAVID CHIPPERFIEL ARCHITECT, and the developer was EMERIGE. It is a complex of buildings that stands out for its exceptional central location on the banks of the Seine. The total area of the Morland Mixité Capitale project is over 43,000 square meters. The main principles laid down in the architecture of the complex: diversity of use, openness to the public, architectural and artistic creativity, technological innovation and environmental responsibility. The reproduction of the city block on an urban scale ensures the harmony of the project with the environment: the existing buildings were reconstructed while preserving their original composition. New buildings were inserted into the block in such a way as to be an extension of the existing buildings. A street that crosses the block was added, allowing for indoor pedestrian walkways, breathing life into the entire neighborhood.

The second finalist of the MIPIM Awards was the Msheireb Downtown Doha project in Meshir, Qatar. The architect was Fatima Mohamed Fauzi, and the developer was Msheireb Properties. According to Msheireb’s designers, Downtown Doha is the world’s first smart and sustainable urban area, which will become not only a new place for living, but also for leisure and business. Its advantageous location in the heart of the capital makes it an ideal location for retail, commercial, residential and public services. Msheireb Downtown Doha is fully sustainable, all buildings are LEED Gold or Platinum certified, meeting the highest standards for green buildings. Combining the best of Qatar’s architectural heritage with contemporary design, Msheireb Downtown Doha utilizes the latest cutting-edge technology in its infrastructure and services to meet the needs of generations to come. It can be said that it is an integrated city, which has modern, fully furnished residential buildings, as well as mixed-use and commercial buildings.

The third finalist of the MIPIM Awards was the Norblin Factory project in Warsaw, Poland. The architect of the project is PRC ARCHITEKCI, and the developer is CAPITAL PARK GROUP. Norblin Factory is an award-winning multifunctional urban regeneration project and landmark in the heart of Warsaw’s central business district. After several years of intensive work on design, construction and deconservation, it regained its place on the map of Warsaw. The total area of the multifunctional project is more than 65,000 square meters, of which 41,000 square meters are Class A offices. Visitors to Norblin Factory can enjoy unique cultural, entertainment and gastronomic concepts, including the original KinoGram cinema, the largest organic market Bio Bazar, Food food court in the capital and a museum dedicated to the history of this place. The Norblin factory is an example of a world-class revival project that has been implemented with respect for the environment. This is a city-forming project that corresponds to the idea of a 15-minute city and contributes to the positive transformation of a part of the Volsky district, which for many years remained closed to the city and its residents.
